Stadtgalerie The building was built as a hospital in the years 1780 – 1784. As such it served until the year 1895. Then a changeful history follows. Sternwarte Klagenfurt In the fifties of the 19th century, On the occasion of the visit of Emperor Franz Joseph I. the recreation area of ??the Klagenfurter, the hiking trails and the view tower on the Kreuzbergl were designed and built. The desire for a reconstruction of this observation tower into a star station was the result of an intensive site search and, ultimately, the approval of the Klagenfurt Town Council for this project.

 

The “Robert-Musil-Literatur-Museum” is located in Klagenfurt’s birthplace of the Austrian poet Robert Weltil (1880-1942). The house built in 1867 is owned by the provincial capital of Klagenfurt. It was expanded by the city ??of Klagenfurt in the years 1996 and 1997 to a modern center for literature, in order to adapt new spaces for the museum and for the Robert Musil Institute for literature research of the University of Klagenfurt.
